‘Chesnok Red’ Heirloom Culinary Hardneck Garlic
Chesnok Red Garlic is a hard neck variety in the Purple Stripe family, originating from Shvelisi, Republic of Georgia.
It is superb for cooking, holding its flavor and shape and offers a distinctive, lingering taste. One of the best varieties for baking or roasting, turning sweet and creamy. Long, colorfully wrapped cloves are easy to peel. Stores well in a cool, dark, dry place for five to six months from it’s August harvest.
Grown without herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers in Idaho’s Treasure Valley where the abundance of sandy loam soil, clean mountain water, long summer days and frigid winters are ideal for growing this heirloom garlic variety.
Averaging 10 cloves to a bulb, 5-6 bulbs to a pound, 2” diameter bulbs or larger.
